Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating patients with acute and critical illnesses, making a significant impact on their recovery and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of critical care projects, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in critical condition.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Monitor and manage patients' progress and response to treatment.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in patient rounds, case conferences, and team meetings.
  • Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Requirements:

  • Valid NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) license.
  • Certification in Critical Care is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a critical care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Schedule: 6a-6p

Setting: Surgical Trauma ICU

Duties: Multidisciplinary rounding, documentation, procedures, patient progress monitoring, complex wound care management, patient transfers and/or discharge planning, and patient/family education

Procedures: Intubation, bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, central line placement, arterial line placement, laceration repair, and complex wound care

Support Staff: Physicians, residents, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, case managers, ancillary staff, and other specialists

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified
