Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating patients with acute and life-threatening conditions, making a significant impact on their recovery and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of critical care projects, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with critical conditions in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement patient care plans based on individual needs and medical protocols.
- Monitor and adjust patient treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Perform procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and arterial lines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in critical care.
Requirements:
- Valid NP or PA license in the state of practice.
- Certification in Critical Care or relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated experience in a critical care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 7-10 shifts per month
Daily Volume: 26-28 ICU patients
Required Procedures: Central and arterial line insertions, intubations
Support Staff: Intensivist in-house or on-call
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
