We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Emergency Medicine . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality medical care to patients in emergency situations. As a Locum NP or PA in Emergency Medicine , you will be involved in a variety of fast-paced and challenging medical cases, ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. Your ability to think quickly, make sound decisions under pressure, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team will be key to success in this role. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments and examinations in the emergency department.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on their medical conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, blood work, and ECGs.
  • Perform procedures including wound care, suturing, and splinting as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately.
  • Adhere to clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality standards in the emergency department.

Requirements:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Certification in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Schedule: 8a-8p or 10a-10p

Will cover multiple facilities

Daily Census: 90 patients

Support Staff: Emergency medicine MDs

EMR: Meditech Expanse

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
