We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Hospice and Palliative Care . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving the quality of life for individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. As a Locum NP or PA in Hospice and Palliative Care, your role is pivotal in ensuring patients receive comprehensive medical care, pain management, and emotional support. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of those in need, making a significant difference in their end-of-life journey. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, and shortness of breath effectively.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on treatment options and end-of-life care.
  • Coordinate care services with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care plans.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in healthcare practices and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in end-of-life care and pain management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to the needs of patients and families.
  • Proficiency in medical documentation and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient conditions.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call requirement

50% traveling to patients' homes, 50% telehealth

70 patients on the panel

Board-certification required

Paid travel & expenses
