We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care.In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating critically ill patients, making quick decisions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
As a Locum NP/PA in Critical Care , you will be involved in a variety of challenging and rewarding projects, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat critically ill patients under the supervision of physicians.
- Monitor and manage patient progress, including interpreting diagnostic tests and adjusting treatment plans.
- Perform procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and arterial lines.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in critical care.
- Stay current with advancements in critical care medicine and participate in continuing education.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.
- Certification in Critical Care or relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated experience in a critical care setting, handling complex cases.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Schedule: Tuesday-Sunday, 7a-4p
- No call requirement
Setting: Intermediate care unit (IMCU)
Patient Census: 8-12 per day
Primarily post-op CTS patients, some pre-op management
Support Staff: APP
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
