**Seeking Locum Nurse Practitioner with ICU/Critical Care Expertise**
**Coverage Dates:**
- **Day Shifts (7 AM - 8 PM):** - August 20-24 - September 3-6, 9-10, 12-13, 18, 22-24, 26, 29-30 - October 6-9, 17-18, 21-23, 27-31 - November 1-5, 14-15, 18-24, 27, 30
- **Night Shifts (8 PM - 7 AM):** - August 13-17 - October 9-11 - November 23-25
**Job Overview:**
- **Reason for Coverage:** Ongoing need while credentialing new providers.
- **Practice Setting:** Inpatient critical care.
- **Average Patient Load:** Approximately 13 patients per day, with fluctuations between 1-20.
- **EMR System:** EPIC.
- **Procedural Capabilities Required:** Proficient in placing central venous lines (CVLs), hemodialysis catheters, and arterial lines.
- **Patient Demographics:** Adult population.
- **Work Environment:** Autonomous Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role.
**Responsibilities:**
- Manage ventilation with respiratory therapist support.
- Monitor and assess critical care admissions and assist with decompensating patients during night shifts.
- Admit new critical care patients from the emergency department, hospital floors, and external facilities.
- Perform procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, and dialysis catheters.
- Communicate updates to families and set goals of care for patients experiencing decompensation.
**Credentialing Timeline:** Approximately 2 to 4 weeks.
**Facility Coverage for Expenses:** - Reimbursement for flight, accommodation, rental car, and mileage at the IRS standard rate.
**Qualifications:** - Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Active Virginia NP license and DEA registration.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications. - Availability to cover specified dates is a prerequisite for consideration. - Commitment to cover each month.
- Demonstrated critical care experience.
- Clean background essential for temporary privileges.
