**Facility Overview:** This is an academic institution where OB residents will be involved in Labor and Delivery (L&D) and will have the opportunity to serve as first assistants. Additionally, laborists will collaborate with midwives on L&D to enhance patient care.
**Required Obstetric Procedures:** -
**Low-Risk Pregnancy Conditions:** History of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, etc.
- **High-Risk Pregnancy Conditions:** Toxemia, diabetes, Class II or higher cardiac issues, chronic lung conditions, chronic renal disease, etc. -
**Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) Monitoring:** Non-Stress Test (NST), Contraction Stress Test (CST), Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE) application.
- **Ultrasound Procedures:**
- Level I/Screening (Viability)
- Level II/Targeted (Anatomical evaluation)
**Labor and Delivery Procedures:**
- Routine vaginal delivery
- Low forceps application
- Decision-making for cesarean delivery
- Management of complicated deliveries (cesarean section, breech presentation, multiple gestations, abruptions, etc.)
- Vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC)
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree perineal lacerations
**Gynecological Procedures:** - Major/Operative Procedures (including diagnostic): Ectopic pregnancy management, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive laparotomy (LOA), laparoscopic procedures (tubal ligation, LOAs, chromopertubation).
- Surgical gynecology (open techniques)
- Office/Minor Gynecological Procedures: IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP), etc.
**Qualifications:** - Self-query through the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) performed within 30 days of presentation
- Current BLS/ACLS certification
- Board Certification
- Active Ohio Medical License
