Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of patients in cardiothoracic and vascular surgical settings
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative assessments
- Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams to develop treatment plans
- Conduct patient education and counseling regarding surgical procedures
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
- Participate in surgical procedures as directed by supervising physicians
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical techniques
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies
- Active PA license in the state of Wisconsin
- Experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p
1:5 weekday and weekend call rotation
Duties: Endoharvesting of veins and radial arteries, first-assist, and postoperative management and consults
Support Staff: Surgeons, inpatient PAs, clinic NP, nurses
Must be board-certified
