This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to life-saving surgical procedures while working alongside experienced surgeons and healthcare professionals.
As a Locum PA, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries. You will be involved in pre-operative assessments, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative follow-up care. Your expertise will not only enhance patient outcomes but also ensure the highest standards of surgical care within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operative patient evaluations and assessments.
- Assist surgeons during cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
- Manage post-operative care and follow-up for patients.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient histories and treatment plans accurately.
- Participate in patient education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
- Monitor patients post-surgery for complications or recovery issues.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about care plans.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Experience in a surgical setting, preferably in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety standards.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a PA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
Beeper Call: 1 night per week and rotating weekends
Duties: Provide surgical first-assist and consultation support
Must be board-certified
ACLS & BLS required
