This on-site, contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic medical practice environment, providing essential care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.

As a Locum PA, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during operations, managing pre-operative and post-operative care, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services. This role not only contributes to patient outcomes but also allows you to expand your clinical skills in a supportive setting. 

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures within cardiothoracic and vascular specialties
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient evaluations
• Monitor patients during and after surgical procedures
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
• Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams for optimal patient care
• Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
• Administer medications and manage post-operative care plans
• Participate in patient rounds and contribute to treatment planning

Requirements

• Associate degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent
• Valid PA license in the state of practice
• Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiothoracic and vascular procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p

1:5 call rotation

Duties: Endo harvesting of veins and radial arteries, first-assist, and postoperative management and consults

Support Staff: Surgeons, inpatient PAs, clinic NP, nurses

Must be board-certified
