This on-site, contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic medical practice environment, providing essential care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures.
As a Locum PA, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during operations, managing pre-operative and post-operative care, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services. This role not only contributes to patient outcomes but also allows you to expand your clinical skills in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures within cardiothoracic and vascular specialties
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient evaluations
- Monitor patients during and after surgical procedures
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams for optimal patient care
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Administer medications and manage post-operative care plans
- Participate in patient rounds and contribute to treatment planning
Requirements
- Associate degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent
- Valid PA license in the state of practice
- Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiothoracic and vascular procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p
1:5 call rotation
Duties: Endo harvesting of veins and radial arteries, first-assist, and postoperative management and consults
Support Staff: Surgeons, inpatient PAs, clinic NP, nurses
Must be board-certified
