This contract position is on-site and offers a unique chance to contribute to patient care in a dynamic medical practice environment.
As a Locum PA in orthopedic surgery, you will play a vital role in assisting orthopedic surgeons with pre-operative and post-operative care, conducting patient assessments, and helping in the surgical environment. This position allows you to engage with a diverse patient population and work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, all while making a significant impact on patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation and management of orthopedic patients
- Conduct physical examinations and assess patient conditions
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to develop treatment plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
- Educate patients and families on orthopedic procedures and recovery
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
- Perform minor surgical procedures under supervision
- Participate in patient rounds and assist in the operating room
Requirements
- Associate degree with PA certification
- Experience in orthopedic surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and medical knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Team-oriented with a strong commitment to patient care
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates
