**JOB OVERVIEW:**
**Practice Environment:** Labor and Delivery, Obstetrics/Gynecology
**Schedule:** - Physicians: 7 AM - 7 PM - Midwives: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Call Coverage: Physician on call for midwives from 7 PM - 7 AM
**Facility Features:**
- Onsite Laboratory: Yes - Onsite Ultrasound: Yes - Office Equipment: Not applicable (L&D unit)
- Support Staff: Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM)
**Clinical Practice:** - Low-Risk Pregnancy Percentage: Not applicable (focused on L&D)
- GYN Practice: Limited to emergency coverage for unassigned cases
- Nursery Level: III - Electronic Medical Record System: Epic
**Required Obstetrical Procedures Include:**
- Management of Low-Risk Pregnancies (e.g., history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis)
- Management of High-Risk Pregnancies (e.g., with toxemia, diabetes, Class II or higher cardiac conditions, chronic pulmonary issues, chronic renal disease)
**Labor and Delivery Procedural Competencies Required:**
- Routine Vaginal Deliveries, Low Forceps Use
- Decision-Making for Cesarean Sections
- Complicated Deliveries including C-Sections, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions - VBACs - Repair of Third and Fourth Degree Lacerations
**Gynecological Procedures Required:**
- Laparoscopic Diagnostics/Minor Procedures (e.g., Tubal Ligation, Laparoscopic Ovarian Ablation, Chromopertubation) - Surgical Gynecology: Open procedures only
**Credentialing Timeline:** Approximately 120 days
**Reimbursement for Travel Costs:** Includes flight, hotel accommodations, rental car, and mileage at the IRS standard rate.
**Qualifications:** - Board Certified or Board Eligible
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certification highly preferred; must obtain during the credentialing process
- Ohio Medical License (candidates willing to obtain a license will be considered)
- A self-query NPDB report required at the time of presentation (must be generated within the last 30 days)
