**Job Description:**
This job is for a doctor who will provide care for mothers and their babies in a busy hospital that has a special unit for newborns.
You will work with a team of doctors and nurses who are dedicated to giving high-quality care to patients. In this job, you will take care of about thirteen to fourteen patients each day, both in the hospital and in outpatient clinics.
We use an electronic system called EPIC to keep track of patient information and care.
**Schedule:**
- You will work five to six shifts each month.
- A shift lasts twenty-four hours, starting at 7 AM and ending at 7 AM the next day.
- You will need to work some weekends.
- There are no on-call duties for this position.
**Patient Care:**
- You can expect to deliver an average of 4 to 5 babies every 24 hours.
- Most deliveries are vaginal, with about 25% being C-sections.
- You must have experience delivering babies.
**Holiday Pay:** If you work on a holiday, you will get extra pay.
**Requirements:**
- You must be Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- You need to have Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) licenses before starting.
- You must have a current medical license for California or have applied for one.
**Other Qualifications:**
- If you have any history related to malpractice or licenses, please share that information during the application process.
- A self-query from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) is required.
**Experience:**
- 1 to 5 years of working in similar settings is preferred.
