**Locum OB/GYN Physician Opportunity**

We invite experienced Locum OB/GYN Physicians (MD/DO) to join a collaborative medical team.

**Coverage Dates:** - June 2-3: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- June 18-19: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- July 9-10: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- July 11-12: 24-hour coverage only

- July 15-16: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- August 1-2: 24-hour coverage only

- August 4-6: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- August 12: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- August 13: 24-hour coverage only

- August 18-19: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- August 27-28: 24-hour coverage with office responsibilities

- August 29-30: 24-hour coverage only

**Job Details:**

**Practice Setting:** Office and Hospital/Call for Obstetrics and Gynecology  

**Reason for Coverage:** A physician is on medical leave  

**Coverage Duration:** May through June 11  

**Work Schedule:** Office hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 for patient appointments, with 24-hour call hours each day, which includes office responsibilities.  

**Call Schedule:** Yes, managed through PerfectServe   **Call Ratio:** 1 in 4  

**Total Number of Beds:** Not applicable  

**Average Number of Scheduled Patients Per Day:** 25-30  

**Number of Physicians in Practice:** 4 physicians (one will be on leave) and 5 midwives   **Number of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs):** 5  

**Number of Exam Rooms:** 3 per provider  

**Onsite Facilities:** Lab and ultrasound capabilities available  

**Office Equipment:** Standard obstetric and gynecological equipment, including fetal Dopplers, colposcopes, manual blood pressure cuffs, among others.  

**Support Staff:** Each provider is supported by dedicated clinical staff, comprising Certified Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses.  

**Percentage of Low-Risk Pregnancies:** 90%   **Percentage of High-Risk Pregnancies:** 10%  

**Percentage of Gynecology Services:** 20%  

**Average Number of GYN Surgeries Per Day:** Provider discretion—1-4 surgeries depending on the complexity of cases   **Percentage of Patients Requiring Cesarean Sections:** 10%

**Nursery Classification:** NICU Level III   **Documentation System/EMR:** EPC  

**Trauma Designation:** Level 2  

**Required Obstetrical Procedures:** Management of low-risk pregnancies (e.g., history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis), fetal heart rate interpretation through non-stress tests (NST), contraction stress tests (CST), and fetal scalp electrodes (FSE), along with the performance and interpretation of obstetric ultrasounds, including Level I screenings for viability.

**Labor and Delivery Required Procedures:**

Routine vaginal deliveries, utilization of low forceps, decision-making regarding cesarean sections, handling complicated deliveries including breech presentations, multiple births, and abruptions, as well as vaginal births after cesarean deliveries (VBACs) and repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations.

*Gynecology Required Procedures:** Office/minor gynecological procedures including IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, and cryosurgery; surgical gynecology procedures encompassing both open and laparoscopic techniques for diagnostic and minor surgeries, such as tubal ligations and laparoscopic ovarian surgeries, as well as major operations like ectopic pregnancy and cystectomies.

**Qualifications:** - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology  

- Possession of an active Virginia medical license (or willingness to obtain one)  

- A Self-Query NPDB report is required at the time of presentation, and it must be obtained within 30 days  

- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications  

- Clear malpractice history and background check  

- The provider must be local; only mileage will be reimbursed.
