**Practice Setting:**
OBGYN Hospital with emergency call responsibilities and potential for outpatient clinic coverage. Candidates must be flexible and willing to cover both the hospital and clinic to be considered.
**Coverage Dates:** We are seeking ongoing coverage with specific short-term needs outlined below:
- July: 20, 24-26
- August: 3, 10, 12, 17, 21-23, 31
- September: 4-6, 10, 14, 18-20, 24, 28
- October: 5, 12, 16-18, 22, 26
- November: 2, 9, 20-23, 27, 30
- December: 7, 17, 21, 25-27, 29, 31
Ongoing availability is essential as we coordinate coverage across these dates.
**Clinic Coverage:** - No call required post-clinic days. - Working hours: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM with a 1-hour break.
**Call Coverage:** - 24-hour call from 7 AM to 7 AM (the following day), with an average of 20 patients scheduled on call days.
- Clinic hours during call days are typically from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to accommodate morning rounds at the hospital.
**Call Ratio:** 1:4
**Admissions:** - Average nursery admissions: 2-3 per day.
- Average callbacks during a 24-hour shift: less than 1, primarily through the answering service.
**Documentation System/EMR:** - EPIC
**Procedural Requirements:** Candidates must be proficient in key procedures including:
- C-section - Vaginal deliveries - Suction D&C
- Management of ectopic pregnancies
- Treatment of ovarian torsion
- Addressing abnormal bleeding
Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists will manage the majority of high-risk cases. Unreferred patients will be overseen by the Laborist for deliveries and hospital rounds.
**Credentialing:** The process typically takes 60-90 days, though temporary credentials may be granted for candidates with a clean history and no malpractice claims.
**Candidate Preferences:** Preference will be given to local candidates; however, we are open to fully covering travel expenses for non-local providers.
**Qualifications:** - Board Certification required - Active DEA and CSR for Virginia
- Active Virginia medical license
- Certifications: ABOG, BLS

Submission of procedure logs during credentialing reflecting a minimum of 50 deliveries, including 15 C-sections within the last 12 months
- Self-query on NPBD report as a credentialing requirement
- Clean background is mandatory for consideration of temporary placements.
