**Job Specifications: (Subject to modification based on operational requirements)**

**Practice Environment:**   OBGYN Hospital with potential clinic involvement. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility to cover both hospital responsibilities and clinic shifts. Night call is not mandated following clinic days unless specified.

**Coverage Dates:**   Ongoing coverage potential with specific requested dates as follows: 

  - **July:** 20, 24-26  

- **September:** 4-6, 24, 28  

- **October:** 5, 12, 16-18, 22, 26   -

 **November:** 2, 9, 20-23, 27, 30  

- **December:** 7, 17, 21, 25-27, 29, 31  

Ongoing availability is desired; we are currently negotiating specific dates.

**Shift Structure:**   - **Hospital Coverage:** 7 AM to 7 AM (24-hour shifts) with combined clinic and call duties.  

- **Clinic Coverage:** 8:30 AM to 3 PM with a one-hour lunch from 12 PM to 1 PM. No call for clinic-only days.  

- On-call days typically shift clinic hours to 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to facilitate morning hospital rounds.

**Call Ratio:** 1:4  

**Total Capacity:** 9 beds in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and 20 postpartum beds.

**Support Staff Composition:**   - OB hospitalists from OBHG  

- Surgical assistants   - 3-4 nursing staff per shift  

**Daily Case Volume:**   - Average nursery admissions: 2-3 per day  

- Average call backs per 24-hour shift: <1 (calls routed through the answering service)  

**Documentation System/EMR:** EPIC  

**Required Procedures:**   Candidates should be proficient in performing C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, managing ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and addressing abnormal bleeding. Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists will manage the majority of high-risk cases. 

Laborist will cover non-referred deliveries and hospital rounds.

**Candidate Preferences:**  

Preference for local candidates; full travel reimbursement is available for non-local applicants.

**Qualifications Required:** - Board Certification   - Active Virginia DEA and CSR  

- Active Virginia medical license  

- Must possess ABOG certification and BLS  

- Ability to cover call shifts and fulfill specified coverage dates  

- Submission of procedure logs during credentialing reflecting a minimum of 50 deliveries, including at least 15 C-sections within the past 12 months  

- Self-query NPBD report required at the time of presentation 

  - Clean professional background mandatory for consideration for temporary assignments.
