A leading food company is looking for a Maintenance Technician.
**Job Purpose:**
The Maintenance Technician's job is to fix and take care of all the machines and equipment in the plant.
This includes checking and repairing mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
The work hours are usually from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Thursday, with some Fridays as needed.
**Main Responsibilities:**
- Follow all safety rules and wear the necessary protective gear.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Find and fix problems with machines and electrical systems.
- Carry out regular maintenance to keep all equipment running well.
- Respond quickly to repair equipment to reduce downtime.
- Use welding and cutting tools safely.
- Read and understand equipment manuals and work orders.
You may also need to:
- Fit pipes, work with boilers, insulate, weld, do carpentry, and repair buildings or floors.
- Stand, reach, bend, and move around in the facility.
- Have good vision and hearing to meet safety requirements.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:**
- Must have a high school diploma or GED. Technical school training is preferred.
- At least three years of experience in maintenance, especially in a factory.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Good judgment is important for this job.
- Know how to use power tools and hand tools.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Communicate well with all workers, and help train others on new equipment.
