As a Hospitalist, you will play a vital role in managing patient care in the hospital setting, collaborating closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Manage inpatient care for a diverse patient population
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans
- Coordinate with specialists and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient progress and treatment interventions accurately
- Educate patients and families on health management and prevention strategies
- Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain up-to-date medical knowledge and adhere to best practices
- Supervise and mentor medical students and residents as applicable
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- Active medical license in the state of New York
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make critical decisions
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams
- Compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Interest in continuing medical education and professional development
Schedule: 7a-7p, 7 on/7 off
No call requirement
Patient Census: 16-20 per day
Residents and house officers on-site
Full subspecialty support on-site
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
