This full-time, on-site position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our medical practice through comprehensive diagnostic services that are essential for patient care.
As a Pathologist, you will focus on providing accurate diagnoses and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Your expertise will play a vital role in analyzing laboratory results and tissue samples, which are critical to informed medical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Examine and analyze laboratory specimens to provide precise diagnostic information
- Collaborate with clinical teams to guide patient care and treatment plans
- Participate in tumor board meetings, providing insights on pathology cases
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and reports
- Stay updated on advancements in pathology and medical practices
- Supervise and train pathology residents and laboratory staff
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
- Engage in continuous education to enhance professional skills and knowledge
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Pathology
- Associate experience in a clinical pathology setting
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases
- Commitment to adhering to best practices in medical ethics and patient care
Frozen/Consult Call: 1 weekend day every 6 weeks, 1 weeknight every 3 weeks
Annual Volume: ~7.5K surgical specimens and 75+ pediatric autopsies
Case Types: Pediatric, placentas, intrauterine disorders, and congenital disorders
Academic position
EMR: Cerner, Epic
Must be board-certified
