As a Pathologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing diseases through the examination of tissues, cells, and bodily fluids. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate diagnoses that inform patient treatment plans. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care we provide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic examinations of tissue and fluid samples
  • Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
  • Stay updated with advancements in pathology and medical practices
  • Provide expert consultations to healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
  • Conduct research and contribute to publications in the field
  • Educate and mentor medical staff and students

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of residency in Pathology
  • State medical license to practice in Florida
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Experience in clinical pathology is a plus

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Call required

Duties: Contemporary hematopathology services that integrate morphological examination with Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH, and molecular genetics

Adult post-mortem exams are rare, but possible

Tumor boards required

Team Structure: 14 total pathologists

Must be board-certified
