Description
. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing anesthesia care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during surgeries and interventions. You will be involved in a variety of cardiac cases, including bypass surgeries, valve replacements, and heart transplants, among others.
Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage post-operative pain control for cardiac surgery patients.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as required.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiac anesthesia techniques and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and protocols.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board certification in Anesthesiology with a focus on cardiac anesthesia.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and safety.
Schedule: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts available
No call requirement
Total Volume: 10-15 CV cases per day or 3,500-4,000 general cases per month
Cases: Cardiac or general anesthesia; OB, trauma, vascular, neurology, urology, and orthopedics
Peripheral nerve blocks required
Support Staff: CRNAs
1:3 or 1:4 supervision, can work independently
EMR: Cerner, AIMS
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
