Description

We are currently seeking a skilled MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents, making a significant impact on their mental well-being. You will be involved in a variety of projects focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions in young patients.

As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs. Your expertise in psychiatry, particularly in the context of child and adolescent mental health, will be essential in ensuring the well-being and recovery of your patients. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications for mental health conditions.
  • Provide therapy and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Monitor and track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient care.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry with a focus on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy and compassion towards young patients and their families.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Call Requirement: 1:4 rotation, adult and child psychiatry coverage

Setting: 12-bed inpatient unit + outpatient clinic

Patient Population: Ages 13+ for inpatient, 3+ for outpatient

Support Staff: 8 MDs, 9 APCs

Board certification required
