We are currently seeking a skilled MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Hepatology and Transplant Surgery . In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing specialized medical care to patients with liver diseases and those in need of transplant surgeries. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving the health and well-being of individuals requiring advanced medical interventions. You will be involved in cutting-edge projects focused on liver disease treatment and transplant surgery advancements, making a significant impact in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients with liver diseases, including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
- Evaluate patients for liver transplant eligibility and provide pre- and post-transplant care.
- Perform complex surgical procedures related to liver transplantation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Conduct research in the field of Hepatology and Transplant Surgery to contribute to medical advancements.
- Participate in educational activities for medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care.
- Provide consultation services to other healthcare professionals as needed.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Hepatology and Transplant Surgery.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating complex liver diseases.
- Proficiency in performing liver transplant surgeries and managing post-operative care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field.
Schedule: Monday-Friday or Monday-Sunday, 9-hour day shifts
Call Requirement: 1:10 call, mainly consults, rare to be called in
Patient Volume: High volume, ~200 transplants per year
Setting: Hospital and clinic
Procedures: Transplants, some endo
Team: 2 teams, with one seeing transplant patients and one seeing hepatology patients
Support Staff: 10 APPs, full subspecialty support
EMR: Epic Phoenix
Must be board-certified
