Description
We are currently seeking a skilled MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Hospitalist . As a Hospitalist specializing in Internal Medicine, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients. Your expertise will be vital in managing and coordinating the treatment of patients, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments of hospitalized patients.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on diagnosis and patient needs.
- Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
- Monitor and manage the progress of patients, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate intervention.
- Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately.
- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in healthcare delivery.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex medical cases in a hospital setting.
- Strong clinical skills, including diagnostic reasoning and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make timely decisions.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and quality improvement.
Opening Overview:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7 on/ 7 off
- No call shifts required
- Full procedures and ICU coverage are required
- A mix of floor and ICU rotations
- Admissions Per Night: 5
- Structure: 2 Nocturnists per night, full subspecialty support
- EMR: Cerner
- Must be board-certified, ABIM
