As a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, you will be involved in a wide range of projects, from administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during surgery to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans. Your role is essential in optimizing patient outcomes, managing pain effectively, and ensuring a smooth anesthesia experience for pediatric patients. Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia to pediatric patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Evaluate patients' medical history and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
- Manage post-operative pain and provide pain relief strategies for pediatric patients.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as necessary.
- Stay updated on advancements in pediatric anesthesiology and incorporate best practices into clinical care.
- Participate in educational activities and training programs for medical students and residents.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Anesthesiology.
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment with attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families.
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as needed.
Schedule:
Level I pediatric trauma, Level IV NICU
Cases: All components of pediatric anesthesiology except cardiac
Will supervise CRNAs, trainees, residents, and APRNs
Must be comfortable practicing independently
EMR: Cerner, Epic
Must be board-certified
