Maintains a positive public image for the practice through courteous and respectful interactions with patients. Responsible for assisting the physician with fundamental office medical functions to ensure a coordinated approach to patient activities.
Collaborates closely with physicians to facilitate expedient and appropriate patient care.
- Provides education, counseling, and instruction to patients and their families.
- Escorts patients to the examination room, gathers a brief history of complaints, prepares patients for examinations, and records vital signs.
- Engages in clerical duties including managing referrals, scheduling appointments with other healthcare providers and facilities, completing necessary forms, and handling telephone communication.
- Assists the physician during examinations and procedures as required.
- Stocks examination rooms and manages instruments, including cleaning and autoclaving equipment.
- Participates in the orientation of new personnel, with a focus on nursing-related aspects.
- Administers injections as needed.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of supervisory personnel.
- Undertakes additional duties or projects as assigned or required.
**Qualifications:**
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
- Must demonstrate comfort with telephone communication, greetings, processing tasks, mailing, and maintaining cleanliness.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Medical Assistant certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is not required.
