**Job Description:**
The Medical Director of Hospital Medicine will assume a full-time leadership role during day shifts, overseeing and managing the Hospital Medicine team.
Key responsibilities include:

**Leadership & Oversight:** Direct the inpatient care delivery framework and monitor performance metrics to ensure optimal patient outcomes. -
**Collaboration:** Work in close partnership with both administrative and clinical teams to implement evidence-based best practices. -
**Quality Improvement:** Enhance the quality, safety, and operational efficiency of hospitalist services through continuous quality improvement initiatives. -
**Regulatory Compliance:**
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards and internal hospital protocols. -
**Human Resources Development:** Spearhead recruitment, retention, and training initiatives within the department to foster a high-performing team. -
**Documentation:** Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and workflow management. -
**Work Hours:** This position requires approximately 40–50 hours per week with a Monday through Friday schedule. There are no weekend or on-call commitments.
**Candidate Specifications:**
- Candidates must possess experience in the field and be either Board Certified or genuinely Board Eligible (within two years of eligibility), as fresh graduates will not be considered. -
**Mandatory Qualifications:** - Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine - [REQUIRED]
- Active New York Medical License or a commitment to obtain one - [REQUIRED]
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience - [REQUIRED]
- At least 2 years of leadership experience within an acute care environment - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
- Unblemished malpractice and license history
**Certification & Licensing Requirements:**
- Must hold the following certifications: - ACLS - BLS
- Board Certification (or Board Eligibility) - DEA - PALS
**State License Requirements:**
- New York State Medical License is mandatory. Truly Board Eligible candidates must commit to achieve Board Certification within two years from their start date in the position.
