**Job Description**
We are looking for a skilled doctor who specializes in caring for newborns. This position is at a hospital with a special unit for newborns called the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the NICU team as a Medical Director or help as an Associate Medical Director to ensure excellent care for sick newborns.
- Manage advanced treatments for babies, such as special breathing support and cooling therapy.
- Work with other doctors and specialists in pediatrics and maternal-fetal medicine to provide the best care.
- Help teach medical students and residents from Virginia Tech School of Medicine about newborn care.
- Join in efforts to improve health care quality and participate in research in the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative.
- Provide patient care during days, be on call, and work some weekends as necessary.
- Follow hospital rules and take part in meetings for leadership and planning.
This is a full-time, permanent job, and you should live close to the hospital. You may need to move to this area.
**Qualifications:**
- You must be Board Eligible (completed residency within the last 5 years) or Board Certified in Neonatology - this is a must.
- You need to have a Virginia medical license or be willing to get one.
- A clean record with no malpractice or medical license issues is preferred.
- Must have DEA certification.
**Requirements:**
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Must have a Virginia state license.
