**Position Overview: Medical Director of Primary Care**
We are seeking an experienced Medical Director of Primary Care to lead a comprehensive, multi-site, hospital-employed primary care network in Brattleboro, Vermont. This pivotal role integrates direct patient care with overarching clinical governance, quality enhancement initiatives, and strategic healthcare development within a progressive, community-centric landscape in southern Vermont.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver direct primary care services while actively engaging in clinical practice.
- Serve as the Medical Director for a multi-specialty outpatient primary care group comprising 50 providers.
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership across four primary care sites.
- Develop, implement, and standardize clinical protocols rooted in evidence-based practices.
- Spearhead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring safety.
- Mentor, support, and conduct evaluations of clinicians and care teams.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to streamline workflows, optimize scheduling, and enhance EHR utilization.
- Engage in recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for primary care providers.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among clinicians, nursing staff, and administrative units.
- Partner with practice managers and Medical Group leadership to address operational and staffing requirements.
- Oversee patient safety initiatives and lead processes for complaint review and risk management.
- Uphold infection control standards and public health initiatives. - Contribute to the financial planning and budgeting processes, as well as strategic development endeavors.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for practice expansion and value-based care advancement.
- Enhance cost-efficiency and population health strategies.
- Lead or contribute to educational initiatives, training programs, CME activities, case reviews, as well as FPPE/OPPE and performance evaluations.
**Qualifications:**
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- A minimum of three years of experience in an ambulatory care setting.
- Current NPDB Self Query Report (within the past 30 days).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical settings.
- Valid medical license in Vermont (or eligibility to obtain).
- Valid DEA registration in Vermont.
- CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- DEA registration must be complete prior to commencement of the role.
**Certification and Licensing Requirements:**
- Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- CPR for Healthcare Providers.
- Vermont Medical License.
- Vermont DEA License.
