We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with robust skills in general practice medicine and surgery to assume the role of Medical Director.
In this position, you will lead a committed team of veterinary professionals while ensuring high-quality patient care and steering clinical decision-making and team development.
Your pivotal responsibilities will include:
- Setting the standard for medical and surgical excellence through exemplary practice.
- Mentoring both veterinarians and support staff to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Supporting the operational functions of the hospital and fostering a positive team culture.
- Collaborating closely with hospital leadership to establish clinical protocols and streamline workflows.
As a Veterinarian in this role, you will:
- Oversee and administer preventive care, diagnostics, and management of chronic diseases.
- Perform a range of soft tissue surgeries, including but not limited to spays, neuters, mass removals, and foreign body surgeries.
- Provide comprehensive dental care, including extractions supported by radiographic evaluations.
- Foster a Fear Free practice environment that prioritizes compassionate, client-centered care.
Qualifications for the role include:
- A DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland.
- A minimum of three years of experience in small animal practice.
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in general soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
- A strong passion for coaching, collaboration, and delivering gold-standard veterinary medicine.
