**Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description:**
**Overview:** A Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in hospitals or research labs to perform tests and treatments using special medicine. This includes tests for general health and heart health.
They also handle the computer systems related to these tests.
**Responsibilities:**
- Teach nuclear medicine students and other staff when needed.
- Help create rules and standards for providing Nuclear Medicine services.
**Work Hours:** - Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. No weekend work except for on-call duty.
**On-Call Duty:**
- You will take turns being on call every 12 days.
- If you are on call during the weekend, it will be for 24 hours (from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Sunday).
- If it is a weekday, being on call will be for 14 hours (from 5 PM to 7 AM).
- You will receive extra pay for being on call and if you need to come into work.
**Qualifications:**
**Must-Have Requirements:**
1. Must have graduated from a recognized Nuclear Medicine program. An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine is needed.
2. Must have active certification from ARRT in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from NMTCB (CNMT).
3. Must have a Vermont Nuclear Medicine Technologist license or be able to get one.
4. You will need to show your college transcript if you are called for an interview.
**Nice-To-Have Qualifications:**
1. Experience with Epic EMR system.
2. Experience with PET/CT scans.
3. Experience working in a Level I trauma center.
4. At least one year of paid experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.
