**Job Description:**

As a Nurse Practitioner, your role will include:

- Providing advanced medical care for patients who have heart and lung surgeries, focusing on caring for patients with compassion.
- Helping during heart surgeries, which includes procedures like taking veins for surgery and assisting the main surgeon when necessary.
- Managing the care of patients in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and those recovering from heart surgery, including visiting and checking on patients in the CVICU, hospital floors, and clinics.
- Working in two full-day clinics each week and seeing extra patients on other days if needed.
- Rotating among operating rooms from Monday to Friday.
- Working closely with surgeons, doctors, and other healthcare professionals in a team setting.
- Ordering and reviewing lab tests and diagnostic tests to help with patient care.
- Creating and following care plans based on how patients are doing.
- Prescribing medications and writing prescriptions according to the rules.
- Performing bedside procedures that are suitable for the patients.
- Keeping clear and timely records of all care provided.
- Showing good clinical judgment and working independently while being supervised by a physician.
- Continuing education to meet state and national requirements.
- Adapting to and thriving in a fast-paced, changing clinical environment.

**Qualifications:**

- Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing – REQUIRED.
- Must have Nurse Practitioner Certification from ANCC or AANPCB – REQUIRED.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management, or experience with vein harvesting and assisting in surgeries – REQUIRED.
- Must have an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications – REQUIRED.
- Must have full authority to prescribe medications according to medical staff rules – REQUIRED.
- Must have unrestricted membership with the medical staff and the right practice privileges – REQUIRED.
- Must have BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross – REQUIRED.
- Must be eligible to provide services that can be reimbursed and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid – REQUIRED.
- Must have no current or past sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or the GSA List of Excluded Individuals and Entities – REQUIRED.
