**Job Overview:**
This role involves working with Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides. The main focus is on helping patients and using methods like assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation, following medical and safety guidelines.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Patient Evaluation (20%)**: Check how well the patient is functioning by using different tests to understand their body and mind health.
2. **Treatment Planning (20%)**: Create a specific treatment plan based on the patient’s needs and their ability to follow the plan.
3. **Plan Documentation (20%)**: Write down the treatment plan and ensure it gets approved by the doctor. Update the plan if the patient's condition changes. Confirm any verbal orders given to assistants when needed.
4. **Treatment Schedule (20%)**: Make a schedule for treatments, discussing it with the patient, family, or caregiver, and coordinating it with other healthcare staff.
5. **Education (20%)**: Teach the patient, family, or caregiver about their condition, treatment options, expected outcomes, and the reasons for chosen treatments. Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students as required.
**Requirements:**
- **Experience**: Must have experience as an Occupational Therapist, especially in hospitals, and some in outpatient care.
- **Specialty**: Experience working with children is needed.
- **Certifications**: Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- **Licensing**: Must hold a license to practice in Michigan.
**Certification Requirements:**
- BLS (AHA) certification
- State license for Michigan is needed at the time of application.
