As an Oncology NP/PA, you will play a vital role in assessing and managing patients with various oncology-related conditions. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of oncology patients

Requirements

**Specialty:** Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA)  

**Coverage Dates:** As soon as possible, with an estimated duration of eight weeks, though the period may extend if credentialing occurs expeditiously.  

**Setting:** The coverage will take place in both a clinic and an infusion center.  

**Shifts/Schedule Expectations:** Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  

**Daily Responsibilities:** The role encompasses performing blood draws, IV insertions, hydration therapy, and processing medication and chemotherapy orders. The practitioner will manage telephone inquiries from patients and provide assistance in the infusion center for patients requiring support. Registered Nurses will administer the infusions. Experience in fluoroscopy is preferred.  

• No cases involving leukemia.  

**Call Schedule/Responsibilities:** There will be no on-call responsibilities associated with this position.  

**Patient Volume/Census:** The estimated patient volume is approximately 10 to 15 per day, predominantly comprising calls for the infusion center, with an anticipated 2 to 4 patients seen in person daily. Responsibilities include triaging for infusion and emergency response needs as well as managing the in-basket communications.  

**Number of Providers per Shift & Support Staff:** The staffing will consist of Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses, with Oncologist Physicians available for support.  

**Electronic Medical Record System:** EPIC  

**Required/Accepted Certifications:** Candidates must possess Board Certification in either Oncology or Hematology, as well as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.  

**Consideration of Licensing Candidates:** Yes, candidates with valid licenses will be considered.
