**Responsibilities and Duties**

 

- Make purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and the departments that asked for them.

- Check if we have enough items in stock. If not, order more when needed.

- Answer questions from customers and suppliers about orders, changes, or cancellations.

- Contact suppliers to set up delivery times and to fix issues like missing or late deliveries. Check orders for accuracy.

- Prepare and keep track of purchasing files, reports, and price lists.

- Compare prices and delivery times to find the best supplier.

- Keep track of requisitions, contracts, and orders

. Calculate order costs and send invoices to the right accounts.

- Check shipments when they arrive to make sure that orders are correct and goods match the specifications.

- Work with the accounting team to approve and send invoices for payment.

- Find suppliers using catalogs and the internet; talk to them to get information about products to order.

- Understand the rules about purchases set by the company and government, and share this information with staff and vendors.

- Monitor what’s happening with in-house inventory and complete inventory transfer forms for record-keeping.

**Competencies**

1. Communicate with customers, vendors, and coworkers in person, by phone, and with radios.

2. Must be able to drive a vehicle and be approved by our insurance (requires a clean driving record).

3. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management for inventory.

4. Basic math skills. 5. Ability to recognize colors and see the difference between yellow, red, and green tags.

**Reporting Relationship**

This position reports to the Parts Manager.

 

**Required Education and Experience**

1. Experience in the aviation industry with shipping, receiving, and parts is preferred.

2. High School Diploma or equivalent.

3. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

4. This is an entry-level position.

**Additional Eligibility Qualifications**

1. Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

2. Self-starter, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage time and priorities.

3. Good driving record.

4. Able to pass a background check.

5. Participate in the DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
