**Job-Specific Responsibilities and Tasks:**
The role encompasses a comprehensive range of pharmacist duties, including but not limited to:
- Execution of all pharmacist procedures to a high professional standard.
- Provision of extensive pharmaceutical services within the operational capacities of personnel, supplies, and equipment available at the facility
. - Direct patient counseling on optimal medication usage, ensuring education on pharmacotherapy.
- Thorough review of patient profiles at the point of dispensing to meticulously oversee medication therapy management
. - Verification of prescription accuracy, emphasizing appropriate directions for use, dosing, potential drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, allergy alerts, age-specific dosages, and other relevant patient-specific data. Proactive intervention with healthcare providers is required for any discrepancies identified.
- Compounding of medications as clinically necessary.
- Oversight of the accuracy in the preparation and processing of all pharmaceutical products by technical staff. - Management of inventory control for all pharmaceuticals, with particular vigilance on scheduled substances, ensuring both security and compliance. Maintain comprehensive records for all controlled substances in accordance with regulatory mandates.
**Schedule:**
- **Inpatient:** Work cycle consists of 7 days on/7 days off, from Wednesday to Tuesday, with shifts from either 0700-1900 or 1900-0700.
- **Outpatient:** Operating hours are Monday to Friday with flexibility in shift times (0730-1630, 0800-1700, or 0900-1800). - Beyond standard inpatient and outpatient hours, the pharmacist must be available for 24/7 shifts, with varying lengths of 8, 10, 11, or 12 hours, not exceeding a total of 80 hours within a bi-weekly pay period.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Degree:** Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- **Education:** Graduation from a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
- **Experience:** Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience post-graduation.
- **Licensure:** Current, full, active, and unrestricted pharmacy license.
- **Security Clearance:** Ability to successfully pass a government background check/security clearance.
- **Life Support Certification:** Valid BLS Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC.
