As an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist, you will operate at the cutting edge of patient care within a 26-bed Emergency Department recognized as a Level III Trauma Center, which sees a substantial volume of ED visits annually.
Your contributions will be pivotal in advancing the landscape of emergency medicine pharmacy services.
Shift Time - 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM
**Position Overview:**
In your role as an Emergency Department Clinical Pharmacist, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Delivery of direct pharmaceutical care with a focus on medication selection, precise dosing, therapeutic monitoring, and patient education.
- Leadership in the formulation and execution of emergency department-specific medication protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
- Active participation in emergency response scenarios, including but not limited to code blue situations, trauma responses, and stroke alerts.
- Mentorship and instruction for pharmacy students and residents, enhancing the clinical education and practical skills within the pharmacy setting.
- Collaborative engagement with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in urgent and emergent clinical situations.
- Participation in medical staff and hospital-wide committees to bolster patient safety and uphold standards of care excellence.
**Qualifications:**
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution (mandatory).
- Previous clinical or hospital pharmacy experience is preferable.
- Completion of residency training is advantageous.
- Kansas Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure is highly desirable.
- Prior experience within an Emergency Department setting is preferred.
**Licensure Requirements:**
- Must meet the licensure requirements for the state of Kansas.
