**Job-Specific Responsibilities and Tasks: Duties may include, but are not limited to:**
- Executing a comprehensive range of pharmacy technician procedures.
- Carrying out pharmaceutical dispensing responsibilities, which include processing new outpatient prescriptions, refilling existing prescriptions, and accurately entering orders into relevant databases.
- Conducting information consultation duties, which encompass assisting with new and refill prescriptions, addressing patient inquiries, accommodating physician requests, monitoring for potential drug interactions, and reporting any adverse drug reactions.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, including performing drug storage inspections, reviewing and addressing expired supplies, and generating error and workload reports and documentation.
- Implementing supply process responsibilities, such as placing new orders, stocking and restocking shelves, maintaining inventory, and producing "not in stock" reports.
**Schedule:** Standard business hours are from 0730 to 1630, Monday through Friday. Inpatient wards, the Emergency Room, and ancillary areas operate continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Degree:** Certificate. -
**Education:** Graduation from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), or a recognized pharmacy technician program (e.g., technical, hospital, or retail-based), or a formal medical services training program within the United States Military. -
**Certification:** Possession of certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- **Experience:** A minimum of one year of experience as a pharmacy technician subsequent to graduation.
- **Security:** Ability to successfully pass a Government background check/security clearance. -
**Life Support Certification:**
Current certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
