Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) play a vital role in the implementation of patient care components, the collection of data related to treatments administered, and collaboration with Physical Therapists (PTs) to modify care plans as necessary.

PTAs provide assistance in the treatment of individuals across all age groups, from newborns to individuals at the end of life.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist patients with stretching and exercising specific muscle groups

- Interpret instructions provided by the Physical Therapist

- Collaborate directly with the Physical Therapist to facilitate patient care

- Communicate with families to develop optimal at-home techniques for rehabilitation

- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the physical therapy environment

- Assist in transferring patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area

- Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing paperwork

- Educate patients on techniques such as balance training 

**Qualifications:**

- A minimum of one year of experience as a PTA - REQUIRED

- Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings 

- REQUIRED - Valid PTA license - REQUIRED

**Certification Requirements:** - CPR Certification

**State License Requirements:**

- Missouri - Compact Licensure Allowed
