The Physical Therapist is tasked with assessing the patient's physical condition and needs, as well as formulating and executing a corrective treatment plan based on established principles and practices of physical therapy. This role necessitates ongoing evaluation of the patient’s progress and the modification of the treatment plan and objectives as required. The position also involves collaborative consultation with other healthcare professionals and the maintenance of accurate, timely medical and business documentation. Furthermore, the Physical Therapist holds supervisory responsibilities over the clinical activities of Physical Therapy assistants and is expected to mentor at least one affiliated student annually. Participation in departmental quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, and program development is also essential.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program – preferred.
- Prior experience in an acute care setting – preferred (entry-level experience is acceptable).
- State of Vermont licensure – required (a temporary license is acceptable at entry).
- CPR certification – required.
- A minimum of two recent supervisory references – required.
