**Job Summary:**
The role entails the planning and administration of medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs designed to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability following illness, injury, or loss of a body part.
**Essential Functions:**
- Consistently employs an outward mindset and demonstrates exemplary effort in achieving personal goals and objectives in a manner that facilitates the attainment of goals and objectives for others.
- Assesses the appropriateness of prescribed therapies and establishes goals based on the identified pathophysiological condition.
- Accurately documents treatment procedures, patient responses, and outcomes as mandated by Oaklawn and departmental policies.
- Reviews and evaluates the physician’s referral (prescription) along with the patient’s medical record to determine the necessary physical therapy interventions.
- Conducts a range of patient tests, measurements, and evaluations.
- Administers therapeutic exercises aimed at enhancing or maintaining muscle function.
- Instructs, motivates, and assists patients with their exercise regimens. - Applies treatments involving the use of physical agents.
- Provides manual therapy techniques.
- Employs traction methods to alleviate neck and back pain utilizing both intermittent and static traction equipment. - Exhibits strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
**Qualifications:**
A minimum of one year of physical therapy experience is required. Previous experience in travel therapy is preferred.
**Certification Requirements:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
**State License Requirements:**
The applicant must hold an active license in the state of Michigan at the time of submission.
