In this role, you will provide anesthesia (medication to help patients sleep and not feel pain) for patients having heart surgeries. Some examples of these surgeries are CABG (heart bypass), valve replacements, and other complex heart operations.
On average, you will handle about 6 to 8 heart surgery cases each day. You will not be responsible for supervising nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).
The patients we care for are mainly adults and older adults, with some children. Our doctors use general and regional anesthesia for different types of surgeries, including heart, orthopedic (bone), pediatric (children), cosmetic (beauty), and general surgeries.
You will work closely with our heart surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare workers to ensure the best care for our patients. You will also help during patient assessments before surgery and in caring for them after surgery.
We encourage you to contribute to improving anesthesia practices at our center. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important.
