Core Duties:

The responsibilities of this role encompass a fulfilling range of Physician Assistant services in flight medicine and clinical settings, enabling you to make a significant impact within the healthcare community. You'll engage in comprehensive patient care, addressing routine, acute, and chronic conditions across all organ systems, while providing crucial immunizations and patient counseling to foster health and wellness.

Your role as a mentor will shine as you instruct fellow healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to high clinical standards while sharing valuable knowledge and skills. You’ll order essential diagnostic tests and facilitate referrals, positioning yourself as a cornerstone of the healthcare team.

As a Physician Assistant in Aviation, you'll play a vital role within the Flight Medicine and Occupational Health Clinics, delivering primary care and occupational health services that are critical to ensuring the well-being of those you serve. Your care will encompass a holistic approach to health, promoting preventive medicine, behavioral health, and community health.

If you step into the role of Primary Care Manager, you'll be entrusted with the comprehensive management of your patients' health journeys. Your duties will include thorough examinations, crafting diagnostic plans, interpreting findings, and guiding treatment pathways. You’ll oversee consultations and direct case management, becoming a trusted advocate for your patients’ health.

Work Schedule: Embrace a structured work schedule from 0700-1700, Monday through Friday, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life effectively, with a dedicated one-hour meal break to recharge.

Minimum Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, you’ll need a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, along with graduation from an accredited program recognized by the HQ USAF/SG. Your journey will be enriched with required training to become a credentialed Aviation Physician Assistant. With a minimum of 36 months of experience as a Physician Assistant, including 18-24 months in Family Health, you’ll bring invaluable expertise to the table. Certification by the NCCPA is essential, as is a current, unrestricted license to practice. Your commitment to security and safety is paramount, as you will successfully pass a Government background check. A current BLS Healthcare Provider certification will round out your qualifications.
