**Core Duties:**
The responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of Physician Assistant services in both primary and specialty medical care, fully utilizing the training and privileges granted by the MTF. This includes:
- Delivering exceptional patient care by conducting thorough screenings, medical examinations, and addressing routine, acute, and chronic conditions across all organ systems. This also includes providing immunizations, diagnosing, treating, and offering patient counseling as necessary.
- Directly managing and treating a wide array of diseases and injuries, including acute, chronic, and minor trauma, while possessing the skills to recognize emergency conditions. This empowers me to diagnose, prescribe, and treat effectively, and to refer complex cases to the appropriate medical professionals when needed.
- Leading and educating other staff members by providing technical direction, delivering educational lectures, and actively participating in in-service training.
- Advocating for preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, promoting positive health behaviors, and encouraging self-care through formal and individual education.
- Prescribing medications and immunizations in accordance with approved treatment protocols set by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- Identifying medical problems promptly and determining the most effective actions, including referrals to physicians when necessary.
- Executing specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices aligned with my scope of practice.
- Fostering collaborative relationships with physicians and nursing personnel to enhance and streamline primary care services.
- Educating patients and family members on healthy lifestyles and the importance of personal wellness responsibility.
- Actively participating in staff meetings to discuss case studies, pursue continuing education, and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Engaging in the peer review process to maintain high standards of care.
- Conducting specialized evaluations, such as Physical Health Assessments (PHA), Service History Physical Exams, and Separation History and Physical Examinations (SHPE) for non-flying and sister service personnel assigned to MTF.
- Reviewing medical documentation thoroughly to assess the qualifications of AD members for retraining, Special Duty, CONUS & OCONUS assignments, and ensuring compliance with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force policies and guidelines.
**Work Schedule:**
I will maintain a productive work schedule from 0700 to 1700, Monday through Friday, with a structured one-hour uncompensated meal break as established by the clinical department.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Degree:** A Bachelors Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- **Education:** Graduation from an accredited college or university recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, validated by HQ USAF/SG.
- **Experience:** A minimum of 12 months of hands-on experience as a Physician Assistant.
- **Certification:** Nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA), with a commitment to maintaining certification throughout the duration of this task order.
- **Licensure:** Up-to-date, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
- **Security:** Ability to successfully pass a Government background check/security clearance.
- **Life Support Certification:** Current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
