**Position Overview: Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO)**
We are actively recruiting a full-time Hospitalist Physician to integrate into our dedicated, mission-oriented healthcare team, committed to providing superior, patient-centered care to rural communities across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive medical care for hospitalized patients, encompassing admissions, daily rounds, and discharge processes.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Implement evidence-based treatment protocols that prioritize patient-centered care.
- Engage in close collaboration with specialists, primary care physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, and emergency medicine physicians to ensure cohesive care delivery.
- Develop and coordinate patient care plans to facilitate seamless transitions within the care continuum.
- Order, interpret, and respond to laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies effectively. -
Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all patient interactions, care strategies, and outcomes within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Respond adeptly to medical emergencies, including code blue and rapid response scenarios.
- Manage ventilator settings and care requirements.
- Actively participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings for comprehensive patient evaluation and care planning.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment pathways, and follow-up management.
- Involve in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance assessments to enhance care standards. - Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, regulatory compliance, and medical ethical standards.
- Procedures are not a requirement for this position; specialty backup is available for interventions as needed, including surgical support for central line placements.
**Qualifications:**
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active Vermont Medical License required. - DEA registration to be obtained prior to commencement.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory.
- Proven experience in ventilator management and proficiency in running codes.
- A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a Hospitalist role, ideally with rural healthcare exposure.
- Clean malpractice history essential. - Most recent NPDB Self Query Report must be obtained (within 30 days of application).
