**Job Description:**

 

A full-time position for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neonatologist is available, offering a combination of 8 and 24-hour shifts arranged on a 7-week rotating schedule. 

The position entails approximately 170 hours of in-house coverage per month for a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). Neonatologists will be responsible for providing in-house call coverage, as well as backup call from home.

 The role involves delivering a comprehensive range of services within a Level-III, 36-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). 

Service offerings include high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, total body cooling, and amplitude-integrated electroencephalography (aEEG). 

The average daily patient census is 26, with an average length of stay of 19 days and approximately 500 admissions per year.

Support from pediatric subspecialties is readily available in areas such as Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, and Endocrinology. 

It is noteworthy that the NICU has maintained The Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification in the Care of Premature Babies since 2012. The institution is open to considering recent fellowship graduates who are currently Board Certified in Pediatrics.

**Qualifications:**

- Board Certification in Pediatrics is required.

- Candidates must be truly Board Eligible (within five years of fellowship while working toward Board Certification) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

- Possession of a Kansas license (or willingness to acquire one) is required.

- Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine must be completed prior to commencement of employment. - A clean malpractice and licensing history is highly preferred.

- Candidates must obtain a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license prior to starting.

- Board Certification and Board Eligibility are essential.

- Compliance with state licensing requirements in Kansas is mandatory.
