 This contract position is on-site and offers a unique opportunity for professionals looking to work weekends in the thriving medical practice industry.

As an Anesthesiologist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, administering anesthesia, and managing patient recovery post-procedure. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, making this role essential to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare. 

Responsibilities

**Specialty**: Anesthesiology Physician

**Coverage Need**: Due to staff shortages and increasing surgical volumes from new cases being added, they  require locum coverage. 

**Coverage Duration**: Immediate, contingent upon credentialing, with an initial commitment of 3 months and the potential for extension.

**Practice Setting**: Hospital environment.

**Shift Details**: Weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday, available from 7 AM to either 3 PM or 5 PM, with two anesthesiology providers per shift.

**Clinical Responsibilities**

: Although the facility employs a care team model, locum providers will be responsible for their individual cases. Surgical procedures include general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, urology, ophthalmology (including vitrectomy and cataract procedures), and podiatry. Vascular and thoracic cases are not part of this assignment.

**On-Call Duties**: No on-call responsibilities required.

**Patient Volume**: Anticipated case load is approximately 3-5 cases per day, varying by case type.

**Team Structure**: Providers will work within a care team model but primarily function independently. Supervision of other staff is optional.

**Electronic Medical Records (EMR)**: EPIC system utilization.

**Required Certifications**: Candidates must possess Board Certification, a DEA license, and BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with a focus in Anesthesiology
  • Valid state medical license and board certification in Anesthesiology
  • Prior experience in a clinical anesthesiology role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and post-operative care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
  • Willingness to work on weekends
