**Practice Specific Details and Responsibilities:**
The contractual obligations encompass, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
1. **Patient Care:** Personnel will provide scheduled services to patients as directed by the Government.
2. **Clinical Assessment:** Responsibilities include the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
3. **Case History Management:** Prepare and review comprehensive case histories, gathering and analyzing data via structured interview techniques.
4. **Diagnostic Proficiency:** Accurately diagnose a spectrum of psychiatric disorders.
5. **Therapeutic Interventions:** Prescribe a wide range of therapeutic measures and assess their effectiveness.
6. **Case Disposition Recommendations:** Provide advice on the recommended disposition of psychiatric cases.
7. **Mental Health Consultation:** Advise on mental health issues and prevention strategies for mental disorders, serving as a medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and social workers.
8. **Professional Engagement:** Attend and actively participate in various professional meetings and conferences, including but not limited to Quality Improvement meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and safety huddles, as mandated by applicable regulations, MTF guidelines, or directives from the Mental Health Flight Commander or designated representative.
9. **Resource Management:** Advise on the type and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment needed.
10. **Inter-facility Coordination:** Coordinate psychiatric services with other medical facilities as necessary.
11. **Collaborative Consultations:** Consult with medical personnel, legal representatives, military commanders, and educational institutions as required.
12. **Documentation:** Maintain detailed and current notes in Mental Health and inpatient medical records for all patients seen. Responsible for generating necessary evaluation and treatment reports.
13. **Specialized Training:** Actively participate in military-specific training, including Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre/post-deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress management.
14. **Technical Proficiency:** Perform computer operations competently, including basic word processing, data entry, and proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
15. **Productivity Metrics:** Achieve a monthly average of patient visits and Relevant Value Units (RVUs) that align with departmental benchmarks.
16. **Compliance with Regulations:** Fulfill any additional duties as stipulated by AFI 44-172, relevant DODIs, and MDGI.
**Schedule:** - Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9-hour shift between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, inclusive of a one-hour lunch. - No weekend or holiday shifts. - No call responsibilities.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Education:** Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- **Residency/Fellowship:** Successful completion of a residency or fellowship program in Psychiatry.
- **Experience:** A minimum of two years of clinical experience, which may include residency training. -
**Licensure:** Possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted psychiatric license from any state. -
**Board Certification:** Current Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (AOBPN), or Board Eligible status. -
**Life Support Certification:** Maintenance of current BLS certification from AHA or ARC. Note: BLS certification may be obtained upon acceptance, prior to the start date. -
**Security Clearance:** Ability to successfully pass a Government background check and obtain security clearance.
