**Core Duties:**
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with various healthcare professionals to facilitate the attainment of optimal clinical outcomes, quality assurance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and practice in compliance with all policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health histories.
- Provide health promotion, counseling, and educational services.
- Administer medications, perform wound care, and execute numerous personalized interventions.
- Supervise the care provided by other healthcare professionals.
- Assume accountability for assigning patient care responsibilities based on the scope of practice and skill level of designated personnel.
- Identify adverse signs and symptoms, responding swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Engage in communication and collaboration with a diverse array of individuals to inform the healthcare team of plans and actions, and to educate patients and families for their benefit and that of the organization.
- Schedule referral appointments and arrange specialty care as deemed appropriate.
- Execute nursing services as specified in the Task Order (TO).
- Conduct research to support the enhancement of practice standards and improve patient outcomes.
**Schedule:** Emergency Room coverage is required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Federal Holidays. Shifts shall be scheduled for 12.5 hours each. The Night Shift operates from 5:45 PM to 6:15 AM.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Education:** Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). -
**Experience:** Have a minimum of three years of experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse within the last four years; or, in case of a gap in employment, possess a minimum of three years of extensive prior experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse within the last six years; or, Registered Nurses with previous military experience in the Emergency Room must have at least one year of relevant experience. -
**Licensure:** Hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse. -
**Security:** Must possess the ability to pass a government background check and obtain security clearance. - **Life Support Certification:
** Must hold current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC), and certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
