This job involves taking care of patients who are getting special heart tests and treatments called angiography and cardiac catheterization.
The tasks include checking patients before the procedure, giving them medicine to relax, keeping records during the procedure, and taking care of them afterward. You will also teach patients about what to expect.
You will assist during procedures and help the doctors in the cardiac catheterization lab.
This means providing care for patients during their heart tests.
You will use medical machines that check heart function, manage devices like pacemakers, and handle other equipment.
You will also help move patients, restock supplies, and do some basic office tasks.
Although not required, it is preferred that you scrub in (put on special clothing) during the procedures to help the doctor.
You will need to write down all important information on the correct forms.
**Requirements:** -
This position is mainly in the Cath Lab (catheterization lab), but you will also help with procedures in Interventional Radiology (IR) and care before and after those procedures.
- Experience in the Cath Lab is required. - Experience in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in Electrophysiology is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of how to read heart rhythms is highly preferred.
- Experience with intraaortic balloon pumps is highly preferred.
**Certifications Needed:**
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must have a state nursing license for Michigan.
